Wood is recruiting a Senior Piping Specialist within the Life Sciences group, working on projects across Europe and internationally.
The position will be based in Corsico (Milan) office, with the possibility to work from home up to two days per week.

The Role
The Senior Piping Specialist will work on projects for international clients in a multinational and multicultural environment, applying the approach of electrical design in Life Sciences and the working procedures of a large, international engineering company.

The key objectives for this role are:
- Lead the preparation and delivery of piping engineering and design documentation, ensuring consistency, quality, compliance, and adherence to project requirements, including Isometric Drawings and Piping General Arrangements (GA).
- Take ownership of all piping design and layout activities for assigned projects, defining piping layout concepts and ensuring compliance with safety, GMP, constructability, quality, operational and maintenance, throughout all phases of the project.
- Develop piping layouts and design solutions that comply with applicable international codes, industry standards, GMP requirements, client specifications, and company engineering procedures.
- Identify and mitigate potential safety, operational, and regulatory compliance risks related to piping systems and plant layout.
- Actively participate in the review and commenting process of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Develop and maintain 3D piping models using AVEVA E3D. Knowledge of other tools is considered a plus.
- Ensure piping designs are fully developed and ready for internal, client, safety and regulatory reviews, coordinating and ensuring the timely closure of comments and actions.
- Model pipe supports in accordance with stress engineering requirements, applicable standards, and project specifications.
- Perform model reviews and checking activities to ensure the technical accuracy, quality, and compliance of piping designs.
- Proactively manage multidisciplinary design interactions to optimize project outcomes, by coordinating and interfacing effectively with other project disciplines as well as any third parties involved for projects
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to piping design methodologies, digital engineering tools, and engineering workflows.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to junior piping designers and specialists where required.
- Manage and coordinate external parties as well as Wood Indian office involved for piping design development

Compensation and compliance:
Contract & Classification
- Contract type: Permanent
- Collective Agreement (CCNL): Industria Metalmeccanica (CNEL C011)
- Job Classification level: Impiegato, consistent with role requirements and applicable CCNL
Compensation
- Gross Annual Salary: the initial gross annual salary will be € 55,000.00, paid in 14 instalments
- The compensation package will include applicable CCNL elements and company benefits
- Variable pay and additional benefits will be detailed during the selection process
