The Team

We are a mid-sized team servicing the North West Region of Tasmania. We are located between two acute hospitals (Burnie and LaTrobe) and run outpatient and community services from both Burnie and Devonport. In addition, we support outreach sites with outpatient services and some inpatient services in Smithton, King Island and Queenstown.

As a widespread service, we work closely with our other Allied Health disciplines to service the region and this role is especially involved with Statewide Garment prescription and supply, GP’s, Community and Breast Care nurses and Podiatry.

You will have the support of a collaborative team of physiotherapists, allied health assistants and administration that are committed to the NW community and professional growth.

The Role

• Deliver specialist, evidence-based physiotherapy services for clients with lymphoedema and associated conditions across the North West region.
• Liaise closely with other service providers, both within and outside the Agency, to promote and provide quality, client-focused physiotherapy services. This will include referral to other service providers, using the required handover format where appropriate.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement, clinical prioritisation and multidisciplinary collaboration.

You will need

• Current AHPRA registration as a Physiotherapist with demonstrated experience in lymphoedema management.
• Strong clinical, communication and leadership skills, with the ability to provide specialist advice and supervise others.
• Ability to meet manual handling requirements, maintain accurate clinical records and participate in professional development and service improvement.

Details of appointment

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 28 March 2027.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$117,272 to $126,182 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement.

Allowances

• Please note that access to salaries beyond $123,487 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

• Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
• Registered with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

• Current Driver's Licence
• Accredited at minimum level one lymphoedema course qualification recognised by Australian Lymphoedema Association.
