Job Description

This is a provisional appointment.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Human Resources, the Senior Personnel Officer II will perform a variety of administrative duties within the Human Resources Division.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and processing various documents and electronic forms relating to all personnel transactions for department personnel including but not limited to: new hires, absences and terminations, civilian step raises, adjustments and comps, changes in status, personnel orders, and budget amendments.
  • The Senior Personnel Officer II is also responsible for maintaining various databases tracking Family Medical Leaves, Department Personnel Orders, as well as a personnel database (Comnetix System); assisting with processing of new recruit classes.
  • Performing related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications

  • Applicants must have a minimum of three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in human resources or office work.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
  • Experience in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PeopleSoft is strongly preferred.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with office experience in a human resources environment and experience in human resources systems.
