The People team plays a pivotal role in enabling Endava’s organisational success and growth. Through strategic business partnering, we work closely with leaders to align the People agenda with business priorities, strengthen leadership capability, build high-performing organisations and create an engaging employee experience.

As Senior People Partner – India, you will be a trusted adviser and strategic partner to the Country Manager and leadership team, developing a deep understanding of the business, its priorities and challenges and translating these into a focused and impactful People agenda.

You will work closely with the leadership team on leadership effectiveness, organisational performance, employee engagement, talent, workforce planning and change. Working closely with colleagues across the global People function and Centres of Excellence, you will ensure that business and local market needs are reflected in People priorities while global programmes and practices are implemented effectively within India.

As part of the role, you will also support M&A, integration and transformation activities, partnering with local and global stakeholders to enable successful organisational and people integration and a positive employee experience.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Strategic Adviser and Business Partner

  • Acts as a trusted adviser to the India leadership team, aligning business strategy with the people agenda and translating business needs into effective people solutions and initiatives.

  • Serves as the key bridge between the India operation and Corporate People teams, ensuring two-way communication, alignment on priorities and effective execution of global people strategies locally.

  • Brings local market, workforce and cultural insight into corporate discussions, helping to shape people policies, programmes and initiatives that are practical and effective for India.

  • Provides consulting support on organisational design, team structures, roles and responsibilities to optimise performance and support business growth, transformation and changing capability needs.

  • Partners with leaders to plan and lead change initiatives, ensuring clear communication, manager readiness, employee engagement and appropriate change management.

  • Uses people data, metrics and analytics to identify trends, provide evidence-based recommendations and measure the effectiveness of people interventions.

M&A, Integration and Corporate Initiatives

  • Supports the people workstream for acquisitions, integrations, employee transfers and other corporate transformation initiatives affecting the India operation.

  • Works closely with Corporate People, Legal, Finance, Technology and local business leaders to support due diligence, integration planning, employee communications, organisation design, policy alignment and implementation activities.

  • Identifies people-related risks, dependencies and opportunities during integrations, ensuring appropriate mitigation plans and timely escalation where needed.

  • Helps create a positive and consistent employee experience for transferring or newly integrated employees, including onboarding, communications, benefits, systems, policies and cultural integration.

  • Drives the local implementation of corporate People initiatives, ensuring delivery is aligned with global standards while taking account of local legal, operational and cultural requirements.

  • Contributes lessons learned and local insight from integrations to improve Endava’s future M&A and transformation approach.

Execution Focused

  • Drives and provides guidance on core people processes across the India client group, including workforce planning, performance management, talent and succession planning, grading, salary reviews and engagement actions.

  • Acts as an account manager for the leadership team, coordinating the wider People function to deliver high-quality, timely and commercially sound people solutions.

  • Partners with leaders on capability and workforce plans, ensuring skills gaps, career development, succession needs and retention risks are understood and addressed.

  • Supports leaders in building strong, inclusive and high-performing teams, including through coaching, manager development and organisational effectiveness initiatives.

  • Mentors, coaches and provides feedback to managers at all levels, strengthening leadership capability and confidence in managing people matters.

Employee Relations, Compliance and Governance

  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations matters, including absence, performance, capability, disciplinary investigations and workplace conflict, in line with Endava policies and local legal requirements.

  • Keeps abreast of Indian employment legislation and translates legal and regulatory developments into practical guidance, processes and risk mitigation.

  • Contributes to the development, implementation and communication of global and local people policies, ensuring they are understood and consistently applied.

  • Ensures appropriate governance, documentation and stakeholder management for sensitive employee relations, change and integration matters.

  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with relevant local employee representatives, external advisers and other stakeholders where required.

Qualifications

  • You hold a degree in Human Resources, Business, Law or a related field, or have equivalent relevant experience.

  • You bring several years of progressive HR Business Partner experience, ideally in a large, global and matrixed organisation, supporting senior leaders and management teams.

  • You have experience partnering with leadership teams in India and a strong understanding of the Indian employment landscape, employment practices and cultural context.

  • You bring broad HR expertise across organisational development, workforce planning, talent and succession, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations and change management.

  • You have demonstrated experience supporting the people aspects of mergers, acquisitions, employee transfers and post-acquisition integrations, ideally in an international or complex matrix environment.

  • You understand the end-to-end people integration lifecycle, including due diligence, employee communications, consultation requirements, organisational design, transfer of employment, policy and benefits alignment, onboarding and cultural integration.

  • You can identify, assess and manage people-related integration risks and dependencies, partnering effectively with Corporate People, Legal, Finance and business leaders to deliver a compliant and positive employee transition experience.

  • You have experience leading or supporting complex change and transformation initiatives, balancing global standards with local legal, operational and cultural requirements.

  • You have experience working closely with Corporate or Centre of Excellence teams and can effectively translate global People strategies into practical local implementation plans.

  • You have strong employee relations experience and a sound knowledge of Indian employment law and regulations; familiarity with employment practices in other countries is an advantage.

  • You are an effective and credible adviser, able to influence and challenge senior stakeholders constructively while building trusted relationships at all levels.

  • You use people data and insights to identify trends, make evidence-based recommendations and measure the impact of people initiatives.

  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex, sensitive and fast-moving situations.

  • You are highly organised, pragmatic and solution-focused, with strong follow-through and the ability to manage multiple priorities across local and global stakeholders.

  • You are passionate about improving the employee experience and driving meaningful corporate People initiatives locally.

  • You are fluent in English; additional Indian languages would be an advantage.
