About the Role
We are seeking a Senior People Partner to join our People Partnering team within the SVHA People and Culture function.
Reporting to the Head of People Partnering – Private Hospitals, you will provide consistent, high-quality advice and support to leaders and employees across all people-related matters.
You will guide case management across workforce matters including grievances, misconduct, and performance, while supporting organisational change initiatives. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret and advise on policies, Enterprise Agreements, and relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver professional People & Culture services aligned to SVHA strategy
Partner with leaders on organisational change and key business initiatives
Drive a people and performance-focused culture through expert advice across IR/ER, OD, attraction and retention
Act as a trusted advisor on HR policies and procedures in line with awards, agreements, and legislation
Manage employee relations matters including performance, conduct, grievances, and investigations
Build and maintain union relationships, including representation at the Fair Work Commission where required
Collaborate with the broader P&C team to deliver a consistent employee experience
Ensure compliance with all HR policies and employment frameworks
About You
Significant experience (Minimum of 4 years) as a P&C Business Partner (health, aged care, or community sector highly regarded)
Strong IR/ER expertise, including enterprise agreements
Contemporary HR generalist capability with experience coaching leaders
Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing skills
Strong relationship-building capability and a collaborative approach
Alignment to SVHA values and a commitment to delivering high-quality service

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.
We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.
We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. Together, we are committed to improving the health outcomes for children today and in the future.
In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
