Hexagon’s Autonomous Solutions division is looking for a Senior People & Culture Advisor to join our team in Dowling, Ontario. Reporting to the Manager, People & Culture Advisory & Operations (Canada), this role will provide trusted HR advisory support to leaders and employees across our Canadian workforce, helping to drive employee engagement, leadership effectiveness, compliance, and organizational performance in a dynamic and complex environment.

Responsibilities
As Senior People & Culture Advisor you will be responsible for:
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders on employee relations, performance management, investigations, and complex workplace matters.
- Lead and manage sensitive and high-risk employee relations issues, providing practical solutions while mitigating organizational risk.
- Coach and support leaders to strengthen people management capability and leadership effectiveness.
- Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and HR practices across business groups.
- Partner with leaders to align people strategies and workforce decisions with business and operational objectives.
- Support organizational changes, restructuring activities, workforce planning, and talent movement initiatives.
- Oversee complex leave of absence cases, including disability, parental, medical, and accommodation matters.
- Manage case documentation, communications, return-to-work planning, and stakeholder coordination.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian employment legislation, human rights requirements, and internal policies.
- Lead or support workplace investigations and partner with Health & Safety teams on regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Provide oversight and continuous improvement of onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Conduct and analyze exit interviews to identify trends and support retention strategies.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, culture programs, and change management activities.
- Lead or contribute to HR projects, policy updates, process improvements, and system enhancements.
- Support broader People & Culture initiatives across Canada as required.
Qualifications
Must Have:
- Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in HR advisory, HR business partner, or generalist roles.
- Significant experience managing complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment law, human rights legislation, and HR best practices.
- Proven experience advising managers and senior leaders in technology, manufacturing, mining, or similarly complex operational environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and high-risk situations independently while exercising sound judgment.
- Strong coaching, influencing, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
Nice To Have:
- CHRP, CHRL, or equivalent HR designation.
- Experience supporting employees in mining, industrial, manufacturing, or high-technology environments.
- Experience working within global or multi-jurisdictional organizations.
- Experience supporting organizations that have grown through acquisition or significant business transformation.
- Exposure to change management, workforce planning, or organizational design initiatives.
