1-800-GOT-JUNK? is seeking an experienced Senior People Business Partner to serve as a trusted strategic advisor to business leaders and a senior leader within the Talent Management team. This role is accountable for shaping people strategy, managing risk, and ensuring the organization is prepared for growth through disciplined, compliant, and forward-looking people practices.
This position operates with significant autonomy and influence and is designed for a seasoned People professional who can balance enterprise thinking with strong front-line execution.

💼 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic People Partnership
- Act as the strategic People advisor to assigned leaders and lteams
- Partner with leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, role clarity, and succession planning
- Anticipate people-related risks and opportunities and provide proactive, data-informed guidance aligned to business objectives
- Translate business strategy into scalable people solutions and priorities
Senior Advisory, Risk & Employee Relations
- Lead and oversee complex employee relations matters, including performance management, investigations, accommodations, and exits
- Advise leaders on high-impact people decisions, balancing employee experience, business needs, and legal risk
- Serve as a senior escalation point for sensitive or high-risk people matters
Legislative Foresight & Compliance Leadership
- Monitor and interpret changes in employment legislation and emerging People-related regulatory requirements
- Proactively advise leaders and People Business Partners on the implications of legislative changes
- Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Payroll, and Operations to ensure policies, practices, and programs remain compliant and aligned
- Lead updates to policies, processes, and leader guidance to reflect legislative and regulatory changes
Mentorship & People Team Leadership
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and day-to-day guidance to People Business Partners, supporting capability development and consistency of practice
- Set standards for high-quality business partnering, decision-making, and documentation
- Support onboarding and development of People team members as needed
Talent, Performance & Organizational Effectiveness
- Lead and continuously improve enterprise people programs, including:
- Performance management cycles
- Talent reviews and succession planning
- Individual development planning
- Ensure leaders are equipped and accountable for effective people leadership
Enterprise Programs & Cross-Functional Delivery
- Lead or play a senior role in People initiatives such as:
- Policy development and modernization
- Organizational effectiveness and scalability initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure people programs are operationally sound, legally compliant, and scalable

🧠 WHAT YOU BRING
- 7+ years of progressive People / HR experience, including senior-level business partnering
- Demonstrated experience mentoring or leading other HR / People professionals
- Deep working knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and compliance best practices
- Experience advising leaders through organizational change, growth, or complexity
- Strong judgment and ability to influence at all levels
- Ability to synthesize legislation, risk, and business context into practical guidance
🏢 HYBRID WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is based in Vancouver or Toronto Team members work in-office every other week (Tuesday–Thursday), with core hours from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on in-office days to support collaboration and business priorities.
