As a Senior Program Manager within the PMO, you will lead a portfolio of complex, cross-functional programs that are critical to achieving business objectives and advancing strategic priorities. In this role, you will provide leadership, governance, and operational oversight across multiple projects and workstreams, ensuring alignment, execution excellence, and successful delivery of key initiatives. You will partner with stakeholders across the organization to drive collaboration, manage risks and dependencies, and implement continuous improvement efforts that support scope, schedule, budget, quality, and patient safety objectives.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead large, strategic, and highly complex programs that span multiple functions, business units, and geographic regions, delivering outcomes that drive significant business impact.

  • Develop and maintain integrated program charters, roadmaps, and execution plans, including scope, milestones, resource forecasts, dependencies, and critical path activities.

  • Establish and lead program governance processes, including status reporting, risk and issue management, decision-making forums, and change control, while providing clear recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and issues; manage scope changes and competing priorities in alignment with business objectives and PMO standards.

  • Influence, align, and lead cross-functional and matrixed teams to achieve program objectives, fostering accountability, collaboration, and high-performance execution.

  • Manage program budgets and financial performance, supporting business case development, investment planning, and benefit realization tracking for major initiatives.

  • Drive stakeholder engagement and communication strategies, ensuring alignment, transparency, and effective decision-making across all levels of the organization.

  • Champion program management best practices and continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging lessons learned, metrics, and process enhancements to improve execution efficiency and organizational effectiveness.

Location: Memphis, TN or Lafayette, CO (Onsite)

Onsite: At Medtronic, we bring bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness to put patients first in everything we do. We’re working onsite 4 days a week to drive performance, foster an environment of belonging, and collaborate to inspire as we engineer the extraordinary. This role will require <10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

Minimum Requirements (Must Haves):

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 7 years of relevant experience

  • Or Advance degree with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Nice To have:

  • Advance degree with 7+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience in the medical device industry, preferably supporting spine, orthopedic, or other regulated healthcare technologies.

  • Proven track record leading large, cross-functional programs involving product development, operations, quality, regulatory, and commercial teams.

  • Strong understanding of product development lifecycle processes within a regulated environment, including design controls, risk management, and change management.

  • Experience establishing program governance, executive stakeholder communications, and portfolio reporting for complex initiatives.

  • PMP, Agile, or other project/program management certification preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change, continuous improvement, and business process optimization across multiple functions.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$178,400.00 - $267,600.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance,Health Savings Account,Healthcare Flexible Spending Account,Life insurance, Long-term disability leave,Dependent daycare spending account,Tuition assistance/reimbursement, andSimple Steps (global well-being program).
