Job Description

You see the big picture, you’ve always worked on a grand scale, and now you’re ready to re-focus on grand impact.

You know that to make a meaningful contribution there needs to be connection and collaboration across the teams. Here’s your opportunity to help our people make a big impact.

In this role, you'll:

Bring your experience in People and Culture Business Partnering to support the Engineering and Maintenance Branch across the rail network.

Provide trusted, practical and strategic people advice to senior leaders, ensuring People & Culture initiatives are aligned to business plans and organisational objectives.

Lead and manage complex case management, supporting leaders through sensitive and high-risk people matters with sound judgement and consistency.

Partner constructively with leaders to build a highly engaged and productive workforce through effective workforce planning, leadership and capability development, and appropriate workforce behaviour and management standards.

Engage with unions as required, working collaboratively within an established framework and with support from senior People & Culture leadership.

About you

You are a seasoned and collaborative People & Culture professional with strong experience operating in fast-paced, operational blue- and white-collar environments.

You bring:

  • Demonstrated expertise in complex case management and providing trusted advice to senior leaders.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to coach leaders through complex people decisions.
  • Experience working within a unionised environment, with confidence engaging with employee representatives (not leading high-level industrial disputes).
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and sound judgement when managing sensitive people matters.
  • An engaging and energetic style, with a strong focus on employee experience and creating positive workplace culture.

You will report to a Senior Manager, People & Culture, and will be well supported in the role.
