Job Description

You’re looking to embed yourself in projects of different sizes and become part of a team that’s shaping the landscape across NSW.

In this role, you'll:


Play a key role in the project team driving the development and implementation of the new Regional Guard program within NSW TrainLink, supporting the introduction of the new regional train fleet, a once in a generation opportunity to be involved in new and exciting public transport project for NSW.


Partner closely with a wide range of stakeholders including leaders, subject matter experts and operational managers to deliver strategic and practical people solutions that enable business outcomes.


Lead and support the change agenda in a complex operational and industrial environment, ensuring timeframes and obligations are met, risks managed and relationships maintained.


Work proactively on industrial and workforce risk identification and mitigation, including anticipating and assessing risks and collaborating with stakeholders to identify solutions to support informed decision making.


Support the project team to manage the people impacts of transformational change, applying structured change management approaches to maintain and assure business continuity.


Provide expert advice on workforce planning, organisation design, retention and capability development to facilitate current and future readiness.

Role model the Five Ways of Leading behaviours, contributing to a culture that puts customers at the centre and people at the heart of everything we do.

About you


Extensive experience designing and implementing workforce management initiatives within a large, complex and highly unionised organisation.


Strong industrial relations capability, including stakeholder management on workforce change and managing complex employee relations risks.


Demonstrated experience supporting major operational or workforce transformations, ideally in transport, infrastructure, government or safety‑critical environments.


A pragmatic, solutions‑focused mindset with the ability to anticipate issues, balance competing stakeholder expectations and provide clear, credible advice.


Strong influencing and relationship‑building skills, with the confidence to operate at senior levels and in high‑pressure contexts.


A commitment to inclusive leadership, collaboration and delivering outcomes for the greater good.
