The Senior Payroll Administration Specialist is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant end-to-end payroll processing across designated countries or employee populations in conjunction with an outsourced payroll provider. The role provides subject matter expertise, supports process improvements, and ensures strong governance, audit readiness, and stakeholder engagement across Payroll, HR, Finance, and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with an external payroll provider to process salaries for an expanding country.
  • Manage full payroll lifecycle including pre-payroll, payroll processing, and post-payroll activities
  • Validate payroll inputs (e.g. salary changes, benefits, deductions, absences) to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Perform gross-to-net calculations, ensuring correct application of earnings, deductions, statutory deductions, taxes, and benefits.
  • Review and reconcile payroll outputs, identifying and resolving discrepancies prior to approval.
  • Ensure bank account funding is in place with Finance Teams and salary/tax payments deposited.
  • Support off-cycle payrolls, adjustments, and correction runs.
  • Oversee payroll vendor activities and ensure adherence to service levels.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation, reports, explanations and participating in audits.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, efficiency, and controls including payroll documentation and automation initiatives.
  • Handle internal and external inquiries.
  • Work closely with the European Payroll Team and contribute to global projects.
  • Support system enhancements, integrations, and payroll-related projects
  • Ensure proper storage and maintenance of payroll documentation in line with regulations.
  • Support training and onboarding of potentially any new team members including oversight of activities completed.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 – 7 years’ payroll experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, controls, and statutory requirements
  • Experience with payroll systems (e.g. Workday or equivalent)
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Exposure to payroll transformation or system implementations
