Lead the design of critical infrastructure
At WSP, you’ll do more than deliver designs—you’ll shape the future of transport infrastructure. As a Senior Pavement Engineer, you’ll take a leading role in designing durable, cost-effective pavement solutions while guiding teams across complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
This is an opportunity to step into technical leadership—driving design excellence, influencing client outcomes, and mentoring emerging engineers while contributing to major infrastructure programs.

What you’ll do
You’ll lead and contribute across the full project lifecycle, bringing both technical expertise and leadership:

  • Lead the design and review of flexible and rigid pavement systems
  • Provide technical oversight on pavement materials, mix designs and concrete mix registers
  • Drive high-quality technical reporting, design documentation and drawing reviews
  • Lead multidisciplinary collaboration on major infrastructure projects
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers, supporting capability uplift
  • Identify and manage risks across projects, applying safety in design principles
  • Contribute to and review proposals, including technical inputs and costings
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, quality systems and client requirements
  • Influence project outcomes to deliver best-for-client, efficient and innovative solutions

What you’ll bring
You’re an experienced pavement engineer ready to step into a senior role with greater influence:

  • ~8+ years’ experience in pavement engineering
  • Strong expertise in flexible and rigid pavement design and technical reporting
  • Solid understanding of geotechnical inputs (desirable)
  • Proven ability to lead technical deliverables across projects
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members
  • Excellent time management with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail with a strong quality and delivery focus

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Chartered Engineer status (or close to completion)
