Help lead the daily operations and senior paralegal support of a growing Florida law firm where accuracy, initiative, judgment, and teamwork matter every day.

About the Role

Black Law P.A. is seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal – Office Manager to serve as an operational backbone for the firm while also providing substantive paralegal support in commercial litigation, corporate practice matters, entity filings, and related case work.

This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role for someone who can manage details, support attorneys, guide staff, maintain office systems, and move work forward without constant direction. The right candidate will bring strong paralegal experience, practical office administration judgment, and the confidence to help implement processes, prepare reliable work product, and keep the team organized.

The role is primarily based in the Fort Lauderdale office and will support coordination with the firm’s Tampa office as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support the work of other staff members, including training, guidance, follow-up, and quality control.
  • Assist with commercial litigation and corporate practice matters, including drafting, discovery shells, discovery responses, case research, and related work product.
  • Prepare and file motions, complaints, and other court documents through applicable e-filing systems.
  • Pull cases, conduct legal research through Lexis, and assist attorneys with matter preparation.
  • Prepare hearing binders, trial boxes, exhibits, mailings, and other litigation support materials.
  • Handle Sunbiz filings, corporate filings, entity setup, and related business documentation as needed.
  • Enter matter costs, prepare retainer requests, and accurately input client payments in Clio
  • Support office administration, including supplies, bank runs, vendor coordination, staff meetings, software tools, and knowledge base updates.
  • Coordinate with the Fort Lauderdale and Tampa offices to help maintain consistency, communication, and organization across the firm.
  • Assist with additional administrative, paralegal, and firm operations needs as assigned.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of paralegal experience required, with experience in commercial litigation, corporate filings, or corporate practice support strongly preferred.
  • Prior office management, staff oversight, training, or administrative leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong drafting, research, filing, calendaring, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • Experience with Sunbiz filings, entity formation, discovery, e-filing, trial preparation, and hearing preparation preferred.
  • Experience with Clio or similar billing, matter management, or practice management software preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and produce accurate work without constant supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and the judgment to work effectively with attorneys, staff, clients, vendors, and court personnel.
  • Professional maturity, confidentiality, sound judgment, and a strong sense of accountability.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance required for occasional office-related errands, bank runs, supply coordination, and related administrative needs.

Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $115,000, depending on experience, qualifications, leadership ability, and overall fit for the role.

Schedule and Location

  • Regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • In-person role with coordination for the Tampa office as needed.
  • Tampa-based candidates will be considered based on qualifications.
