Job Description
The Senior P&A Engineer ( onshore role) shall prepare well abandonment detailed engineering projects in accordance with the instructions, standards, and guidelines established by the client and the regulatory authorities, subject to the conditions set forth in this specification.
The scope of this professional includes Design and monitor general well abandonment projects in shallow-water, deepwater, and ultra-deepwater fields.
Responsibilities
- Develop well abandonment concepts;
- Analyze and register project inputs;
- Analyze and prepare summaries of well events (construction and operational history);
- Prepare or evaluate geopressure and geomechanical studies;
- Classify well criticality according to the CLIENT matrix;
- Provide inputs for specialized engineering projects and prepare duration and cost estimates;
- Enter basic data into the CLIENT project management and budgeting systems;
- Request and critically review geological studies and seabed biological characterization reports;
- Request and critically review operational constraints diagrams for offshore well operations;
- Request and critically review formation declaration documents identifying flow-potential formations;
- Request specialized well abandonment studies (fluid engineering, slickline, coiled tubing, nitrogen, logging, perforating, pressure recording, line flushing, fishing and other special services, well architecture, plugging, tubing retrieval, and subsea equipment retrieval);
- Request and critically review Riser Analysis and WSOG studies;
- Request probabilistic intervention duration estimates;
- Participate in operational meetings, management of change meetings for assigned wells;
- Prepare all documents resulting from the abandonment project;
- Prepare documents for external agencies (partners, ANP, and other authorities);
- Participate in meetings related to the designed well (such as risk assessments and management of change reviews);
- Prepare Preliminary Risk Analyses in accordance with the CLIENT standards and procedures;
- Prepare engineering management of change documentation;
- Support the preparation of Well Handover documentation;
- Support the preparation of operational envelope analyses and barrier envelope evaluations;
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree complete in Engineering
- Professional registration CREA active
- 5 years of experience in offshore oil well abandonment design and/or execution.
- 2 years of experience in offshore oil well general abandonment engineering projects
- Fluent Portuguese, Advanced English
- Proved residence in Brazil and legal paper to work
