Join the Growth and Leadership Development team and help build the systems, experiences, and partnerships that shape culture and leadership across Te Kaunihera o Tāmaki Makaurau.

As a Senior Organisational Development Partner, you’ll lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of leadership development initiatives and organisational systems that align behaviour with strategy. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, enabling you to create meaningful leadership experiences that support our people to grow, belong, and thrive.

You’ll work across a complex environment, partnering with senior leaders and suppliers to bring programmes to life, using storytelling and insight to build engagement and drive real impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deliver, and continuously improve leadership development programmes and OD systems that embed our organisational behaviours and values.
  • Partner with senior leaders and stakeholders to co-design impactful interventions and build strong organisational buy-in.
  • Manage and collaborate with external suppliers, ensuring high-quality delivery and alignment with organisational outcomes.
  • Use human-centred design, organisational insights, and systems thinking to shape meaningful leadership experiences grounded in kaimahi experience.
  • Translate strategy into compelling narratives that bring programmes and initiatives to life.
  • Navigate organisational complexity with agility, balancing multiple priorities and projects effectively.
  • Lead evaluation efforts to ensure programmes deliver measurable impact and continuous improvement.
  • Champion and model agile ways of working, fostering collaboration, adaptability, transparency, and learning.

He kōrero mōu: About you

You are an experienced OD and leadership development practitioner who thrives in complexity and is passionate about delivering leadership experiences that truly make a difference.

You will bring:

  • Strong experience in leadership development, including designing and delivering programmes at scale.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with external suppliers, managing relationships and driving quality outcomes.
  • Confidence in storytelling and influencing, with the ability to build buy-in and engagement across senior stakeholders.
  • A deep understanding of organisational context, with the ability to align initiatives to strategic drivers.
  • A passion for evaluation, using insights and data to continuously improve learning and development outcomes.
  • Strong prioritisation and self-management skills, with the ability to lead multiple initiatives and work autonomously.
  • Experience working in complex environments, ideally within large or public sector organisations.
  • An understanding of te ao Māori, and the ability to thoughtfully integrate this into leadership and capability development.
