🎯 The Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA), with Postgres experience, to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing mission-critical database environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, reliability, and security across enterprise systems.

You will play a key role in supporting business continuity initiatives and delivering high-impact solutions for client environments within a fast-paced, multi-cloud focused ecosystem.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

· Lead the delivery of enterprise database architecture projects, including Oracle database infrastructure design, implementation, upgrades, migrations, performance tuning, and ongoing support.

· Manage a combination of production support and project delivery activities across multiple environments, taking ownership of database incidents and service requests to ensure resolution within defined SLAs.

· Review and maintain operational health reports related to backups, maintenance, and monitoring to proactively identify and resolve service issues.

· Design, implement, and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions using Oracle Data Guard, GoldenGate, and RAC, including backup, recovery, and data integrity processes to ensure business continuity.

· Install, configure, upgrade, and manage the lifecycle of Oracle database server software and associated tools across on-premises and cloud environments, including patching (Oracle 19c and newer).

· Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives, transitioning databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS platforms.

· Monitor database performance, implement proactive tuning and optimization strategies, and conduct root cause analysis for production issues, driving long-term corrective actions.

· Develop and maintain database replication strategies and automated operational processes.

· Design and implement database security solutions and best practices.

· Define optimal database architecture, server sizing, and storage strategies.

· Build and maintain automation solutions for routine administrative tasks, reporting, monitoring, alerts, and notifications using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 13c+ and custom scripting.

· Support PostgreSQL database administration, including installation, configuration, and routine maintenance across on-premises and cloud environments (AWS RDS/Aurora, OCI, or Azure Flexible Server), using tools such as pgAdmin and psql.

· Assist with PostgreSQL backup and recovery processes using pg_dump, pg_basebackup, and WAL archiving, and support basic HA/replication setups (streaming or logical replication) using tools such as pgBackRest and Patroni.

· Perform routine PostgreSQL health checks, monitoring, and performance troubleshooting (vacuum/autovacuum tuning, query performance, connection pooling) using tools such as pg_stat_statements, PgBouncer, and pgBadger.

· Respond to and resolve PostgreSQL-related service requests and incidents in coordination with the broader database and application support teams.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for a proactive, collaborative professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for delivering excellence.

· 7–10 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration, with a strong understanding of database architecture, principles, best practices, and Oracle technologies (including Data Guard, GoldenGate, and RAC).

· Proven experience in Oracle performance tuning, troubleshooting, production support, and database patching (CPU/PSU/RU), along with strong SQL, PL/SQL, and Unix/Linux skills.

· Working knowledge of PostgreSQL administration, including installation, configuration, backup/recovery (pg_dump, pg_basebackup, WAL archiving), and basic HA/replication setups; familiarity with tools such as pgAdmin, pgBackRest, Patroni, and pg_stat_statements is a plus.

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

· Experience working in production environments with ITIL/change-management processes, along with familiarity with database monitoring and reporting tools (e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
