Job Description
Our client is looking for a senior Oracle Database Administrator to who is responsible for is responsible for the effective design, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of database systems. The successful candidate will have previous experience in the securities trading or investment banking industry. This is a remote job based in malaysia but involves coordination with a global team.
JOB RESPOSIBILITIES
- Provide production support, solutions, and expertise for RDBMS.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues quickly.
- Build and maintain mission-critical database clusters as required.
- Work closely with various development teams across the firm to ensure proper use of DB features, best practices, and adherence to the companys database standards.
- Help design, maintain, improve, and implement monitoring tools.
- Handle your share of DBA tickets, user requests, routine support, and maintenance.
- Research new tools in the database ecosystem and adopt as needed.
- Provide 24x7 production support.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 5-6 years of hands-on experience administering/monitoring high-performance, high-availability database clusters such as Oracle RAC, Oracle Active-Standby, and Data Guard.
- Experience with large, high-volume, mission-critical environments including migrations.
- Ability to train and mentor DBA team members as needed.
- In-depth knowledge of database internals and database objects.
- Fluent in English.
Additional Skills
- Experience with Oracle Exadata.
- Knowledge of Pacemaker.
- Working experience with MariaDB and/or PostgreSQL.
- Japanese Language Proficiency (JLPT) Level 3 or equivalent and above.
