Job Description

This is a 3-Month temporary position supporting critical migration and modernization efforts, with potential to extend into a long-term role supporting ongoing operational and engineering activities.

Everforth ECS is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to work in our Washington, DC office.

This role will support the Provisioning and Access Control (PAC) platform and associated Oracle infrastructure supporting enterprise identity lifecycle management services for over 55,000 users across mission-critical environments.

The selected candidate will serve as a senior technical resource supporting ongoing Oracle database modernization and migration initiatives alongside the lead database engineering team. This includes hands-on support for Oracle 19c migration efforts, RHEL platform modernization, Oracle Grid Infrastructure, ASM/RAC environments, operational sustainment, troubleshooting, and coordination across Oracle, Linux, infrastructure, and security teams.

This position requires a strong hands-on Oracle DBA with experience supporting enterprise migration efforts, operational sustainment, infrastructure modernization, and complex troubleshooting activities within secure production environments.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced operational environment while independently troubleshooting Oracle/Linux infrastructure issues and assisting with modernization activities involving legacy-to-modern platform transitions.

Primary Duties:

  • Support daily Oracle database administration activities across production and non-production PAC environments
  • Partner with senior database engineering personnel to support enterprise database modernization and migration initiatives
  • Assist with Oracle Exadata operational sustainment and modernization activities
  • Support Oracle RAC, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and Data Guard administration and monitoring
  • Perform database performance tuning, troubleshooting, health monitoring, and operational support activities
  • Support Oracle database migration and upgrade initiatives, including Oracle 19c modernization efforts
  • Assist with RHEL platform upgrade and infrastructure modernization activities
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve Oracle/Linux operational and migration-related issues
  • Coordinate with Linux/server teams regarding RHEL configuration, STIG compliance, FIPS requirements, and infrastructure troubleshooting activities
  • Assist with validating Oracle compatibility, infrastructure readiness, and operational stability during modernization efforts
  • Support database backup/recovery validation and disaster recovery activities
  • Assist with patching, vulnerability remediation, and operational maintenance efforts
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and operational troubleshooting activities
  • Support operational documentation, SOP development, and knowledge transfer activities
  • Provide Tier-3 operational support for enterprise identity and access management services

This role is 100% onsite

Salary Range: $117,454 - $148,500

Qualifications

Active Top Secret Clearance (SCI eligibility preferred)

  • 5+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience
  • Experience supporting Oracle databases within Linux/RHEL environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and Data Guard
  • Experience supporting Oracle Exadata environments
  • Experience supporting Oracle 12c/19c enterprise database environments
  • Experience supporting enterprise Oracle migration or modernization initiatives
  • Familiarity with RHEL 7/8/9 administration concepts and operational support
  • Experience troubleshooting Oracle/Linux integration and compatibility issues
  • Experience supporting patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation activities
  • Strong troubleshooting and operational support experience within mission-critical production environments
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot complex Oracle/Linux infrastructure issues
  • Ability to work collaboratively across DBA, Linux, infrastructure, application, and security teams
