Role Purpose:

As the Senior Oracle COA Manager, you will act as the key design authority and be responsible for governing, designing, and operationalizing the Global Chart of Accounts (COA) within Oracle. This role operates in a multi-BU and cross-functional environment to ensure consistent COA structure, robust governance, and alignment across business units while supporting Oracle design.

You will play a central role in driving design decisions, facilitating fit-gap discussions, and ensuring that COA-related changes are assessed, approved, and implemented with full consideration of business and system impacts.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. COA Governance & Data Stewardship

  • Act as the primary data steward for the Oracle Global COA, ensuring integrity, consistency, and alignment across BUs.

  • Govern the end-to-end COA change process, including request submission, assessment, approval, and implementation.

  • Support and actively participate in COA Change Control Board activities, including agenda management, recommending COA updates, decision tracking, and follow-ups.

  • Ensure segregation of duties and proper role design for COA-related activities (e.g. Central vs business unit, preparer vs approver).

  • Provide oversight that all controls are operating effectively and ensure the team maintain required evidence.

2. COA Design Leadership & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Act as a key design authority for COA and related finance structures across multiple tracks i.e. BAU, onboarding of new business units.

  • Lead cross-functional impact assessments for COA changes, working closely with Finance, Tech, and downstream system owners.

  • Drive alignment between global design and local requirements while minimizing unnecessary deviations.

  • Provide clear recommendations and feedback to business units on COA requests and design decisions.

  • Collaborate with Group Tech to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with Oracle configuration.

3. Project Rollout & New Business Unit (BU) Onboarding

  • Lead and participate in recurring fit-gap assessment sessions with BUs and implementation partners to validate design decisions.

  • Work closely with implementation partners to transition knowledge and build internal capability.

  • Support Oracle rollout across business units by ensuring readiness of COA structures and governance processes. ​​

  • Maintain and update design artefacts, documentation, and reference materials in SharePoint.​

4. Continuous Improvement & Design Governance

  • Monitor effectiveness of COA processes and recommend improvements. ​

  • Identify design gaps, data inconsistencies, and control weaknesses, and drive remediation actions.

  • Maintain oversight of open design items and ensure resolution tracking across stakeholders. ​

5. Period Close

  • Act as the central authority for month-end close strategy and execution, setting the direction for how close processes are designed, governed, and continuously improved across all BUs.

  • Own the end-to-end close framework, including timelines, sequencing, dependencies, and control points across subledgers and General Ledger.

  • Provide clear direction to BU Finance teams, balancing global timelines with local operational realities while driving adherence to central standards.

  • Provide oversight that controls are operating effectively and ensure the team maintain required evidence.

6. Others

  • Act as the designated design lead for new business unit onboarding, providing oversight of end‑to‑end Oracle design across COA, data integration, finance operations, budgeting, and related finance processes, through all phases of delivery from design and build to testing and implementation.

  • Participate in supporting other workstreams and platforms e.g. Coupa, Workday, that requires alignment with Oracle COA.

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the broader Oracle Finance transformation.

Minimum Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in Finance, Accounting or a related field.

Experience

  • 15 – 20 years of experience in Finance Operations, Finance Systems, or Finance Transformation roles.

  • Hands‑on experience in using ERP system, familiarity with Oracle will be an added advantage.

  • Strong understanding of CoA design concepts and principles.

  • Experience in insurance or financial service industries will be an added advantage.
