Job Description

Join our operations network and help deliver millions of packages to customers every day. As an Operations Manager, you'll lead and develop a talented team while driving meaningful improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency through data-informed decisions and collaborative problem-solving.

Key job responsibilities
- Support, mentor, and develop your salaried and hourly team members, providing them with the tools and guidance they need to succeed
- Lead large-scope projects with site and regional impact, partnering with other leaders to balance workload and drive results
- Build and execute productivity plans by conducting forecast reviews, determining productivity requirements, and collaborating with colleagues to optimize operations
- Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery commitments through data-driven analysis and continuous monitoring
- Collaborate with support teams including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to develop and implement plans that meet business objectives

A day in the life
In this role, you'll focus on leading and supporting your team through their shifts while maintaining our commitment to safety, quality, and on-time delivery. You'll spend time on the operations floor engaging with your team, reviewing performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities, and collaborating with colleagues across Safety, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to solve complex operational challenges. You might conduct a forecast review in the morning to determine productivity requirements, lead a project meeting with regional partners to address a workflow bottleneck, and then spend time coaching team members on best practices. Your work spans across our operation's three major components—first mile, middle mile, and last mile—ensuring that customer orders move smoothly from warehouse to doorstep.

Our team values collaboration, continuous improvement, and supporting one another to achieve our shared goals. You'll join a group that is committed to developing talent, fostering a safe and inclusive workplace, and building processes that work efficiently at scale. We're excited to welcome someone who shares our passion for operational excellence and our commitment to our customers and team members.

About Amazon

Amazon is guided by four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking. We are driven by the excitement of building technologies, inventing products, and providing services that change lives. We embrace new ways of doing things, make decisions quickly, and are not afraid to fail. We have the scope and capabilities of a large company, and the spirit and heart of a small one.

Together, Amazonians research and develop new technologies from Amazon Web Services to Alexa on behalf of our customers: shoppers, sellers, content creators, and developers around the world.

Our mission is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. Our actions, goals, projects, programs, and inventions begin and end with the customer top of mind.

You'll also hear us say that at Amazon, it's always "Day 1." What do we mean? That our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon's very first day - to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and focus on delighting our customers.
