Position Description

At R.S. Hughes, the Senior Operations Manager will lead a cross-functional team across an assigned region and direct activities related to business operations. The Senior Operations Manager will take a hands-on approach; being committed to expanding and strengthening the business. This role will implement strategies that increase productivity and enable achievement of sales targets. The Senior Operations Manager is expected to adhere to all company policies and safety protocols.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the business delivers against profit and loss requirements within the current operational plan framework, while uncovering ad hoc opportunities to drive revenue and profit growth.
  • Accelerate business growth through strategic and operational plans and activities; drive continuous advancement in business development to increase top-line and bottom-line growth rates.
  • Build an operating culture of understanding and cohesiveness, while fostering and empowering entrepreneurialism at local levels to uncover and seize opportunities; provide transformational thinking to raise performance and service delivery.
  • Oversee talent development programs and actions to enhance organizational capabilities, especially for warehouse operations roles.
  • Manage the planning and deployment of capital as appropriate for the region.
  • Establish yourself quickly as a leader with in-depth insight into the business model and the nuances of each division; present the model in terms of business value to various constituencies.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, disciplined problem-solving, high-performance work teams, and continuous improvement; ensure the right team, tools, and processes are in place to support these traits.
  • Coach, provide feedback to, and develop divisional Warehouse Managers and Operation Managers; motivate and manage performance to achieve annual regional and organizational goals/objectives.
  • Maintain quality service by enforcing quality and operational standards; analyze and resolve quality/service-delivery issues; identify trends; recommend system improvements.
  • Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor warehouse and regional operations.
  • Review performance data (financial, sales, and activity reports/spreadsheets) to monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to travel up to 40% consistently.

Education/Certification/Licenses

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in a sizable division management role, including Operations, Sales Operations and/or Customer Service within the R.S. Hughes Company, Inc., or similar experience. The ideal team member will understand all aspects of the R.S. Hughes Company, Inc. This includes, but is not limited to, Customer Care, Warehouse, Logistics, Operations, Credit & Collect & Finance. (Required)

Compensation

Our merit-based salary/bonus program offers exceptional growth opportunities. Compensation for this exempt role is up to $84,000 DOE
