The Position

This role is responsible for partnering closely with Market Access, Public Affairs and Patient Support Solutions (MAPA & PSS) leadership to represent the core vision and values in the planning and facilitation of department meetings, communications and annual training plan.

Relationships

This position reports directly to the Director, Planning, Execution & Operations and will work closely with key members of the MAPA Leadership team, Diabetes, Obesity and Rare Disease Marketing, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Human Resources and Corporate Communications. This individual will work closely with the Executive Office Director to ensure clarity of department priorities and application to all deliverables.

Essential Functions

  • Market Access Operations:
    • Partners and collaborates with broader teams including Sales Operations and Communications to understand strategies and execute activities in support of the MAPA organization
    • Proactively identifies opportunities for MAPA process improvement. Works closely with leadership to inspect process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement
    • Understands, communicates and remediates process bottlenecks and inconsistencies
  • MAPA Communications:
    • Responsible for Communication/Messaging across all of MAPA and other key internal stakeholders
    • Meets regularly MAPA and PSS leadership to draft intra-department communications regarding critical strategy updates, impactful policy changes, structural changes and other key market events for priority areas in diabetes, obesity and rare disease
    • Accountable for development and implementation of proactive communication strategies to support the business goals and objectives of MAPA
    • Works collaboratively with the NNI Communications Team to develop and implement Leadership communication plans and publicize business milestones more broadly within NNI
    • Ensures all communications are executed compliantly, with close partnerships with legal, regulatory, compliance and medical
  • MAPA Training & Meeting Management:
    • Responsible for developing MAPA’s annual training plan with input from therapy area and Public Affairs leads, PSS, EEand the MAPA LT
    • Provides a vehicle for the delivery of all MAPA training via live, virtual or on-demand platforms
    • Manages MAPA’s iteration of the NOVO Connect platform to implement enhancements and other system improvements aimed at improving the user experience
    • Leads the planning and execution of all MAPA department meetings Participates on cross-functional steering and training committees to support the planning of MAPA and Sales Team POAs
    • Collaborate closely with the Director of PE&O and Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) to develop and execute annual training plan consistent with the MAPA & PSS workforce plan
    • Partner with MAPA strategy and policy teams to coordinate the timely and effective delivery of training materials
      • Coordinate with MAPA, PRB, IT and external vendors to provide MAPA field teams with consistent access to approved customer facing resources via the Market Access Central (MAC) platform
      • Work closely with the MAPA Execution Team to triage regular feedback on the effectiveness of trainings and resources developed for the department. Support the responsible teams in the iteration and enhancement process to ensure the team is getting what they need
      • Coordinate the candidate selection, on-boarding and debriefing of MAPA’s developmental project rotation program
      • Manage the content on all MAPA related SharePoint and Connect pages to ensure it is relevant, up-to-date and reflective of the department’s vision and values

Physical Requirements

20-30% overnight travel required.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelors degree required, however relevant experience can be substituted for degree
  • Requires a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in related field
  • Pharmaceutical experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendors
  • Ability to successfully interact with the field personnel - outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Advanced capability to manage business complexity
  • Advanced capability to perform data analysis and interpretation
  • Manages multiple internal relationships at all levels of the business
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives and demands
  • Requires proven leadership/ collaboration skills with the ability to develop and communicate a vision and engage people in that vision
  • Strong attention to detail

The base compensation range for this position is $120K to $222K. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
