Golden Pass LNG, a joint venture between ExxonMobil and QatarEnergy, has the vision to become the premier LNG export company in North America. It is our mission to bring clean energy from Texas to power the world and we seek to do that in a way that values safety, integrity, our people, community, and the environment. In order to achieve those goals, we are bringing together a diverse team of experienced and talented professionals. Headquartered in Downtown Houston, the Golden Pass LNG organization expects to double in size over the next several years as we complete the project, commence natural gas trading activities, and ramp up towards full LNG production. Once full operations commence, Golden Pass LNG will become the second largest consumer of natural gas in the US and produce more than 200 cargos of LNG per annum.

/ Purpose

From inception to date, substantially all technology systems and services have been provided by ExxonMobil IT. As part of the project, the company launched a GPLNG IT Enablement initiative to carve out systems, and establish standalone systems and processes designed specifically for LNG export operations in a Greenfield environment. The IT Enablement initiatives will utilize Cloud technology and Software-as-a Service to the extent possible. Golden Pass IT professionals will focus on strategic initiatives, business differentiators, and manage service providers to maintain systems and perform recurring, tactical tasks.
The Sr. Operations Business Analyst will have responsibility for the Operations Applications for Golden Pass LNG. This role is for a Sr. Operations Business Analyst to work within a cross-functional team – primarily support for Operations Applications such as Aveva PI, Hexagon J5, and Enablon.
THE CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATE, ADVISE ALL LEVELS OF BUSINESS USERS AND SOLVE COMPLEX BUSINESS PROBLEMS / REQUIREMENTS WITHIN OUR SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION.

Essential Duties / Functions

1. Candidate must have good knowledge of Operations and Operations Applications
2. Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status
3. Design and providing feasible solution options to tackle business issues and support business growth in the system
4. Effective stakeholder relationship management between Operations and IT
5. Technical brainstorming on best approaches to tackle changes in the system
6. L2/3 support for existing production software
7. Consult with business analysts & subject matter experts to determine requirements and functional specifications
8. Contribute ideas to the evolution of the system architecture
9. Candidate must have a good understanding of agile delivery methodology and experience working in a global team. Candidate must be able to effectively manage tasks assigned, timelines and progress reporting on the tasks.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent experience

Minimum experience required of the position.

• Minimum 8 years of experience as a business or technical analyst or supporting Operations Applications and Plant Operations. LNG experience is a plus.
• Experience supporting and working with operations IT team providing technical or business expertise and assisting in technical designs for operations systems or experience utilizing multiple operations applications in a power user role.
• Experience working with teams to drive and influence IT strategies by taking initiative, engaging business stakeholders and management, expressing ideas and challenging the status quo across management, business and functions

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position.

• Experience in Natural Gas and LNG with strong business acumen and knowledge of Operations, Permit to Work, Data Historians, Operator Rounds, Management of Change, and Health & Safety applications.
• Ability to quickly understand a complex Gas and LNG value chain system architecture and matrix of across the organizations and businesses; and their interrelationships/dependencies.
• Ability to understand Operations activities and how to best enable mobile solutions to Operations Applications.
