Job Description

An established Southeastern Grower/Packer/Shipper is in growth mode and creating a new position to develop sales in all customer segments (retail, wholesale, foodservice) as they expand from a seasonal to year-round supplier. This position will be responsible for both program and day-to-day sales to a diversified customer base across North America.

Our client has decades of growing experience and established retail relationships that can be utilized for new sales in onions, potatoes and more. This opportunity can be remote based for accomplished sales talent in the onion and/or potato categories.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and manage new customers accounts. retail, wholesale, food service and processor, etc.
  • Maintain sales targets and category growth.
  • Effective account management, including volume and pricing, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Sr. management to create fair pricing to satisfy customer needs and company initiatives.

Position Requirements:

  • Previous successful onion sales experience.
  • Sales background in some or all account segments. (retail, wholesale, food service or processors)
  • Experience in both F.O.B and Program sales.
  • College degree (B.A. /B.S.) in related fields of study desired, or relevant experience in the produce industry.
  • Occasional travel (20% - 30%) to visit customers, trade shows / industry events, and possibly to production areas to promote the company.

The base salary the company may reasonably expect to pay for this role is $100,000 to $130,000. The actual salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience. The base salary range does not include other compensation elements, which will compose the total compensation package, or other benefits available to the position.
