Job Title

Senior Officer, Trade Operations (ARP Operations Maker)

Job Purpose

To support end-to-end ARP operational processing as a Maker, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and operational risk control standards. The incumbent is expected to handle trade loan transactions, support daily operational activities, maintain service quality, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Processing

  • Process ARP transactions accurately and within established turnaround times, including:
  • Ensure timely and accurate booking, verification, maintenance, and updating of transaction records in relevant systems.
  • Review ARP transaction instructions and support documents to ensure completeness and compliance with approved facilities and internal procedures.
  • Perform ARP transaction processing in accordance with established operating procedures, service standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify discrepancies, exceptions, and potential operational risks and escalate them appropriately.

Risk & Control

  • Adhere to operational controls and maker-checker principles to ensure accuracy and minimize operational risk.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, AML/KYC requirements, sanctions controls, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records to support audit, compliance reviews, and regulatory examinations.
  • Support the resolution of operational issues and participate in incident investigations when required.

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise closely with Relationship Managers, Trade Sales/PM Front Office, Credit, Compliance, Operations teams, and other stakeholders to resolve transaction-related issues.
  • Respond promptly to internal and external queries relating to trade finance operations.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth transaction processing and customer service delivery.

Operational Support & Process Improvement

  • Support process enhancement initiatives to improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and service quality.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system enhancement initiatives, and operational projects when required.
  • Assist in updating operational procedures, workflows, and processing documentation.

Reporting & Reconciliation

  • Perform operational reconciliations and investigate outstanding items on a timely basis.
  • Support preparation of management reports, operational statistics, and regulatory reporting where applicable.
  • Monitor workflow queues and ensure transactions are completed within agreed service level agreements (SLA) and turnaround times (TAT).

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related disciplines.
  • Relevant experience in Trade Finance Operations or Banking Operations.
  • Good knowledge of Trade business related particularly ARP transactions.
  • Familiarity with ARP operational processes, transaction lifecycle management, and settlement processes.
  • Good understanding of operational risk, compliance requirements, and internal control standards.
  • Ability to handle high transaction volumes with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage exceptions independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and banking systems.
  • Good communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
