Job Description

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration (BBA – Supply Chain Management)
  • Experience: 3–4 years of hands-on experience in Import Logistics and Trade Operations within a manufacturing environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end import logistics operations from order placement to final delivery at plant/warehouse.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain complete import documentation, including LCs, Goods Declarations (GD), Bills of Lading (BL), Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and related statutory documents.
  • Coordinate with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, transporters, and clearing agents to ensure smooth shipment flow and timely customs clearance.
  • Proactively track shipments and resolve delays, documentation discrepancies, or clearance issues.
  • Ensure full compliance with customs laws, import regulations, and internal company policies.
  • Liaise independently with banks for LC opening, amendments, negotiation, retirement, and closure.
  • Handle advance payments, TT payments, and import-related remittances in coordination with finance.
  • Ensure timely submission of all bank-required import documents to avoid penalties, delays, or compliance risks.
  • Reconcile LC values, payments, duties, and shipment amounts with finance and procurement teams.
  • Accurately record custom duties, freight, port charges, demurrage, and logistics costs in SAP.
  • Provide reliable import cost data for financial reporting, audits, and management reviews.
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining complete, traceable import records.
  • Work closely with procurement, finance, production, and planning teams to align import schedules with business and production requirements.
  • Identify process gaps in import or logistics operations and recommend improvements for cost, time, and efficiency optimization.
