Senior Occupational Therapist
• Full Time Permanent Position
• Grade 3 - $101597.60 - $116074.40 + super + salary packaging
• Location: Metropolitan Remand Centre, 134-154 Middle Road, Truganina
About Forensicare
Forensicare provides specialist mental health and wellbeing services in 13 of Victoria’s 15 prisons. Based at the Metropolitan Remand Centre (MRC), our multidisciplinary team provides outpatient secondary mental health services to prisoners experiencing mental ill-health, as well as initial reception mental health assessments for people coming into custody.
About the Role
The Senior Occupational Therapist provides specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to patients accepted to the caseload of the treating team.
What you will do:
• Work collaboratively and impartially with patients to identify Occupational Therapy treatment priorities.
• Provide authoritative advice and consultation to patients, and custodial staff on Occupational Therapy related matters.
• Participate in the development of the Occupational Therapy service by contributing to the identification and completion of local quality plans and initiatives
• Provide clinical placement education to student therapists and grade one therapists
About You:
• You are an experienced and confident Occupational Therapist with a strong commitment to recovery-oriented mental health care.
• Confident working autonomously in complex environments
• Strong evidence – based practice and clinical reasoning
• Effective communicator and team collaborator
• Committed to quality improvement and professional growth.

What you need:
• Approved degree in Occupational Therapy recognised for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia – Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.
• Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
• The successful candidate will be required to register their qualifications on eCredential.
