Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises and performs a variety of simple and complex technical procedures in the utilization of unseated radionuclides for medical diagnosis and therapy under the supervision of a nuclear medicine physician. Supervises technologists, student technologists, and other ancillary staff assigned within the Nuclear Medicine Department and recommends the scheduling of staff, repairs, and work progress within those areas of designated responsibility. Demonstrates initiative, independent judgment, and supervisory skills. Performs assigned duties safely, promptly and efficiently. Complies with instructions from the responsible supervisor. Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers and other University Health System employees, physicians, and other medical and paramedical, patients and guests. Contributes the overall success of the radiology and nuclear medicine team. Promotes the Health System’s guest relations program

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification, American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT-N), or equivalent is required. Bachelor degree in nuclear sciences or equivalent is preferred. Texas Medical Board (MRT) Certification is mandatory. Three years of clinical nuclear medicine experience in a full service nuclear medicine clinic, with at least two years experience in the use of nuclear medicine computer systems and managerial experience is required
