About the role

With hundreds of journalists worldwide, we are seeking individuals who want to join a global media organization with excellent career development opportunities. We are seeking a Senior News Reporter whose duties will include:

• Pitching, writing, producing, and curating compelling content of interest to our US audience
• Delivering vibrant copy while working to very tight deadlines
• Generating exclusive news stories, with a keen eye for surfacing compelling content
• Managing workflow and research and coordinating with fellow co-workers to ensure stories is produced in a timely fashion
• Operating content management system for publication of stories, including doing picture research and selection
• Monitoring analytics and adjusting strategy as needed to optimize KPIs that will include converting new subscribers and engaging current ones

Person Specification

We are looking for professionals with:

• Passion for the Daily Mail brand, its editorial voice and global audience
• At least three years of experience in journalism – digital news preferred
• Ability to work under tight deadline pressure
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Applicable knowledge of multiplatform news gathering tools and resources
• Must have a passion for research, be great at coming up with ideas and finding the most interesting information
• Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with team members

We offer a competitive salary package in the range of $95,000-$125,000 depending on experience, excellent staff benefits (healthcare, optical, dental, 401K) and a generous PTO allowance.

Daily Mail is a 24-hour newsroom and operates a seven-day working week. Applicants will be required to cover a variety of shifts during the operational hours of the newsroom (daily from 6am through 2am).
