Role Purpose

Are you experienced in Juniper SRX firewall engineering and ready to help protect a global technology company’s business and manufacturing operations?

What is your role?

Join Corning’s Global Cybersecurity Operations organization in Monterrey, Mexico. As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will provide hands-on engineering and daily operational support for Juniper SRX firewalls. Your work will focus on firewall policy development, troubleshooting, and maintaining secure, reliable network connectivity across corporate and manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

Major responsibilities and tasks of the position:

  • Develop, implement, review, and maintain Juniper SRX firewall policies and rules, including security zones, NAT, VPNs, routing, and high-availability configurations.
  • Troubleshoot firewall and network issues using logs, packet captures, and traffic analysis to identify root causes and restore service while minimizing business impact.
  • Support firewall deployment, configuration, upgrades, and lifecycle management, including change planning, rollback procedures, validation, and technical documentation
  • .Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve incidents, manage technical escalations, and improve network security and operational reliability.

What do you need to have?

  • At least five years of hands-on Juniper SRX experience, including engineering, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong networking knowledge and practical experience diagnosing routing, connectivity, and traffic-flow issues.
  • Proficiency with Junos OS and Juniper SRX security policies, zones, NAT, VPNs, and high availability.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including log analysis, packet capture analysis, and root-cause investigation.
  • Experience managing firewall policies and rules throughout their lifecycle, including implementation, review, optimization, and documentation.
  • Advanced English communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Availability to work in Monterrey and follow rotating support schedules, including weekends, with flexibility for after-hours support and on-call coverage as needed.

Direct Juniper SRX experience is required. Experience exclusively with other firewall platforms does not meet this requirement.What would be a plus?

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; equivalent relevant training and experience will also be considered.
  • Juniper certifications such as JNCIA-Junos, JNCIS-SEC, or JNCIP-SEC.
  • Experience with SIEM integration, vulnerability management, manufacturing or Operational Technology environments, additional firewall platforms, or firewall automation.

Work schedule and location

Location: Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, at the Obispado office.
