Overview of position:
FEDITC is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with Zscaler experience to work at one of these locations Springfield, VA or Stennis Data Center MS on behalf of the DHS Homeland Security Enterprise Network (HSEN) Engineering Support Services Contract, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong hands‑on experience in Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA, App Connectors, Branch Connectors) and advanced Tier 3 network troubleshooting. This role supports enterprise WAN engineering, cloud integration, Zero Trust initiatives, and incident management while ensuring alignment with federal security guidelines.
Must be able to attain/maintain DHS EOD clearance

Responsibilities
Zscaler Engineering (Primary Focus)
- Configure, manage, and optimize Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), and Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX) solutions
- Deploy and maintain Zscaler App Connectors & Branch Connectors.
- Troubleshoot advanced Zscaler issues (Z‑Tunnel, policy evaluation, routing behaviors).
- Manage PAC files, GRE/IPsec tunnels, and traffic steering configurations.
- Support Zero Trust architecture, cloud transformation efforts, and security segmentation.
- Troubleshoot and maintain NSS/LSS servers, App Connector health, and Zscaler portal configurations.
Network Engineering (Tier 3)
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for LAN/WAN, routing, and secure access.
- Deep expertise with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, TCP/IP, GRE, IPsec, and VRF technologies.
- Support technology refreshes, design reviews, migrations, and integration projects.
- Document configurations, SOPs, incident resolutions, and design artifacts.
- Participate in incident response and major outage troubleshooting.
- Perform patching and upgrades across network/security tools.
- Documentation & Reporting: Document system configurations, troubleshooting steps, SOPs, and incident resolutions. Prepare regular security reports for leadership and stakeholders.
- Evolve system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, logs, systems and key processes.
- Establish working relationships with vendors to ensure alignment of government requirement and emerging capabilities.

Qualifications
- 5+ years in network engineering or cybersecurity (Tier 2/3, preferably Tier 3).
- Strong hands‑on experience with Zscaler ZIA, ZPA, App Connectors, Branch Connectors, Z‑Tunnel 1.0/2.0.
- Strong understanding of web security, CASB, DLP, threat intelligence.
- Familiarity with NIST 800‑53, RMF, and Zero Trust.
- Experience with Linux administration and scripting (Python/Bash/Perl preferred).
- Experience deploying, managing, and maintaining enterprise security tools.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Experience in federal environments, SOC/NOC operations, or large enterprise networks. (Preferred)

Education:
- BA / BS (relevant field); relevant IT experience may be a substitute for education.
Desired Certifications:
- Zscaler certifications (e.g., ZIA, ZPA, ZDX, Cloud Professional) are highly desirable.
Clearance:
- Must be able to attain/maintain DHS EOD clearance
- Must be a United States Citizen and pass a background check.
- Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC’S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
