Key Responsibilities
Manage firewall policies, VLANs, routing and switching, wireless configurations, VPN connectivity, network monitoring, troubleshooting,
Participate in change management activities to maintain a reliable and secure network environment.
As a member of the Infrastructure Engineering team, the Network Engineer also participates in the deployment of new office locations and network infrastructure projects.
This includes installing and configuring network hardware, racking and stacking equipment, patching copper and fiber cabling, validating ISP connectivity, and implementing standardized network designs.
The role works closely with Security, Infrastructure, and End User Services teams and provides occasional support for Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) environments while contributing to continuous improvement of network standards, documentation, and operational processes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure in a medium to large enterprise environment.
Experience administering Cisco Meraki security appliances, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
Experience configuring and supporting enterprise LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
Demonstrated experience implementing and troubleshooting Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including VLANs, 802.1Q trunking, inter-VLAN routing, static routing, Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP/MST), and Link Aggregation (LACP).
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, IPv4 addressing and subnetting, DHCP, DNS, NAT, SNMP, NTP, SSH, and common enterprise networking protocols.
Experience configuring firewall policies, security rules, NAT, site-to-site VPNs, and network segmentation.
Experience deploying and supporting enterprise wireless networks, including SSIDs, RF profiles, WPA2/WPA3 Enterprise, guest networking, and wireless troubleshooting.
Experience installing and deploying network infrastructure, including rack and stack, structured cabling, copper and fiber patching, patch panel connectivity, and ISP circuit turn-up.
Experience using packet capture and network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, ping, traceroute, and cable testing equipment to diagnose connectivity and performance issues.
Working knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), including 802.1X authentication, RADIUS, and network access control concepts.
Working knowledge of Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Firepower Management Center (FMC) for basic administration and operational support.
Ability to create and maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, IP addressing plans, and standard operating procedures.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Enterprise) certification.
Experience with dynamic routing protocols, including OSPF and BGP.
Experience supporting SD-WAN technologies, including Cisco Meraki AutoVPN.
Experience with Microsoft Azure networking, including Virtual Networks, VPN Gateway, and ExpressRoute.
Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms such as LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, PRTG, or ThousandEyes.
Experience with PowerShell, Python, REST APIs, or other automation technologies for network administration.
Experience working within ITIL-based change management and operational support processes.

Pay Information
This position is exempt and is paid according to the laws of the State of Illinois. The pay range for this position is $82,000-115,000 USD per year We are required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
