About the team

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing robust networking solutions that support global offices, minimizing service disruptions and performance degradation across the network, and for managing the pathways and security governing how all data flows from one environment to another.

The incumbent will research, design, and implement hardware, software, and cloud-based solutions, performing work that supports the resolution of critical operational and support issues as well as the execution of project tasks, ensuring solutions enable business continuity and meet strategic organizational objectives. They will also ensure that all solution designs meet appropriate security, capacity, and availability requirements.

Salary Range

Annual cash compensation ranges from CAD $101,250 to CAD $148,500, plus a discretionary 12 % company bonus. The final offer within this range will reflect the successful candidate’s skills and experience.

What you will do

  • Leverage advanced enterprise IT expertise to proactively identify, design, and implement enhancements across IT systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Design and support enterprise campus network solutions — including Ethernet, fiber, WAN/LAN, wireless (AP), and data center environments.
  • Own complex issues escalated from the ITS team as well as the business, driving them to timely and effective resolution.
  • Design and build orchestration and deployment tooling for networking solutions, enabling efficient, automated management of our global internal networks.
  • Develop and maintain network topology maps, administration guides, and process documentation.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, security, and scalability of all environments (Production, Lab, etc.) to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Integrate network management into the Kinaxis automation and orchestration framework.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders throughout major technology transformations, providing expert guidance and influencing solution direction.
  • Research industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies to ensure network solutions align with corporate strategy.

What we are looking for

  • Typically requires a university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience that demonstrates the required competencies.
  • 5–7 years of experience in large-scale network deployment, with proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing Passive Optical Network (PON) environments; experience within a high-tech, global organization preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco core networking technologies required, including routing, switching, enterprise infrastructure, and Cisco Meraki for cloud-managed networking. CCNP certification preferred; CCNA expected as a baseline, and CCIE or Meraki certifications considered strong assets.
  • Experience with Cisco security and connectivity solutions, including Cisco VPN for secure remote and site-to-site connectivity, and Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) for firewall and security policy management.
  • Familiarity with cloud and hybrid networking solutions (e.g., SD-WAN, cloud-managed connectivity, and integration with public cloud environments) considered a strong asset, with the ability to partner closely with the Network Cloud Architects on current and future migration initiatives.
  • Experience with NetBox for network source-of-truth, IP address management (IPAM), and infrastructure documentation.
  • Experience managing ISP and telecom vendor relationships, including circuit procurement, service-level agreement (SLA) oversight, escalations, and cost optimization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex, non-routine challenges through critical thinking, design thinking, and creativity.
  • Highly adaptable, with the ability to pivot quickly based on shifting business priorities and needs; proactively seeks and delivers feedback to maintain alignment.
  • Strong communication skills are required Must be a confident, articulate communicator able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise messaging for both technical and non-technical audiences across multiple platforms.
  • Proven ability to build rapport quickly, foster positive cross-functional relationships, and deliver strategic updates and recommendations to senior leadership with credibility and impact.
  • Skilled at leading facilitation and presenting complex information across the organization in an engaging, inspiring, and persuasive manner that drives alignment and action.
