Your Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to play a key role in designing, delivering, and continuously improving IGO’s complex, multi-site network environment. This position offers the opportunity to provide technical expertise across on‑premises and cloud infrastructure, ensuring secure, resilient, and high‑performing connectivity that supports both corporate and operational needs. You’ll work across a diverse technology landscape, contribute to strategic initiatives, and mentor a small team, all while driving best practice in network engineering and security.

IGO’s network is the backbone connecting our corporate teams and remote site operations. In this role, you’ll ensure that critical infrastructure stays secure, available, and fit for purpose directly enabling our people to do their best work wherever they are.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain IGO’s network infrastructure across corporate, site, and cloud environments.
  • Administer and maintain Fortinet and Palo Alto firewall platforms, ensuring IGO’s security posture remains robust and up to date.
  • Manage and optimise IGO’s MPLS WAN and Cisco switching environments across corporate and site locations.
  • Design and manage secure hybrid cloud network connectivity across Azure/AWS and on-premises environments.
  • Monitor network performance and availability, proactively resolving issues before they impact the business.
  • Lead and contribute to network projects including upgrades, migrations, and new site deployments.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of network professionals, building capability across the function.

What You’ll Bring

You are an experienced network engineer who thrives on complex problems and takes pride in building reliable, secure infrastructure. We are ideally seeking candidates who bring most of the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Network Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role ideally within the mining or resources industry.
  • Hands-on experience with Fortinet and Palo Alto firewall platforms, and Fortinet EMS.
  • Strong Cisco switching experience and demonstrated capability managing MPLS WAN environments
  • Experience with on-premises and cloud network environments (Azure/AWS virtual networks, hybrid connectivity)
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills across complex, multi-site network environments.
  • Relevant vendor certifications desirable: Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, or CCNP and above.
  • Leadership capability to lead and mentor a small team to success.
  • A recent National Police Clearance (within 2 months).
