Under the guidance of the Director of Infrastructure Architecture, Engineering and Operations, this position supports the 24x7 Global Network Operations for Plug Power and its diverse business unitsthroughmeticulously planning, documenting, and executing best practicesforwireless and wired network services and systems.This is an industrial manufacturing network engineeringposition,requiring physical abilities and ability to work in very extreme temperature environments, potentialheights of 50-60 feet along with roof installationsand toparticipatein activities in OSHA regulated environments such as manufacturing and hydrogen production facilities.In addition, this role will support Plug’s product manufacturing with fiber runs and splicing in products, setup of telemetry and tracking systems through Wi-Fi,stabilizationand improvement ofcellular dataand wi-ficommunications,setup, management, and supportofinstalled equipment (firewalls, routers, switches, IPC’s).
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Assistindeterminingthe IT needs of the company to support daily operations. Coordinating, planning,maintaining, and troubleshooting all IT- related activities so the company has the necessary infrastructure, network capability,monitoringand compute tools (software/applications) tooperateefficiently and securely
Recommends, plans, develops, and implements network configuration changes and/or upgrades tomaintainappropriate levelsof service and security to user community
Analyzes,identifies, and resolves communication problems occurring between servers, workstations, PCs, and the Internet
Troubleshoot and administrates daily issues with circuits, fiber, routers, switches, VoIP, and any security vulnerabilities
Assistsin managing the IT implementations for new business locations and acquisitions,as well as,upgrades/improvementspatchingto existing infrastructure
Develops and monitors Local Area and Wide Area Network (LAN and WAN) performance andutilizationstatistics and prepares periodic reports for management summarizing network status
Works on impactful, prioritized projects to meet organizational needs/directives
Communicatesand coordinateswith outside vendors in support of email, internet, and service needs
Maintainsdocumentation on site layouts, system flows, processes, policies, and procedures
Exercises entrepreneurial spirit andcan-do attitudetoassistin the design, implementation, and maintenance of daily operations of the global network and connectivity needs of the organization
Maintainsa 100%accurateinventory of IP addresses, configurations, and network topology diagrams
Documentsprocedures for troubleshooting and data collection for resolution for level1 EUS services
Trainsand partners withNetwork Operations Center(NOC)staff on network monitoring systems and alert response coordination to documented procedures
Duties may include thepurchase, configuration, placement of all physical Infrastructure platformsassetsrequiring physical equipment
Education and Experience
Pay Rate:
$83,900.00 - $125,800.00
