This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior .NET Developer based in Canada.
This is a senior-level opportunity to shape mission-critical software systems supporting digital transformation in a highly specialized industry.
You’ll own the architecture and evolution of scalable .NET applications, working across application, infrastructure, and cloud layers.
The role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, giving you significant influence over architecture, engineering standards, and technical direction.
You’ll design resilient distributed systems, cloud-native applications, CI/CD pipelines, and production environments built for demanding operational requirements.
Working alongside product leaders, domain experts, and fellow engineers, you’ll turn complex business challenges into reliable and maintainable technology.
You’ll have broad ownership from initial concept through deployment and ongoing optimization, with an emphasis on measurable operational impact.
This is an ideal environment for an experienced developer who values autonomy, high engineering standards, and meaningful work in a critical industry.
Accountabilities:
- Own the architecture and technical direction of critical .NET systems across application and infrastructure layers.
- Design and deliver cloud-native, distributed applications that support mission-critical industry workflows.
- Architect systems for scalability, resilience, observability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
- Lead complex technical initiatives spanning application code, data layers, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and deployment environments.
- Partner with product leaders and stakeholders to translate business objectives and operational challenges into scalable technical strategies.
- Make and guide architectural decisions while considering the full technology lifecycle and system dependencies.
- Conduct rigorous code reviews and establish engineering best practices that improve software quality and operational excellence.
- Identify and eliminate systemic bottlenecks across applications, development pipelines, infrastructure, and production environments.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap across platform capabilities, reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Provide technical leadership through hands-on execution, collaboration, and mentorship by example.
Requirements:
- Significant professional experience developing and designing .NET applications, with the ability to take ownership of complex systems beyond individual features.
- Strong understanding of application architecture, distributed systems, scalability, resilience, and production reliability.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, cloud-native development, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience designing and operating production systems with a strong focus on observability, performance, maintainability, and failure tolerance.
- Ability to lead complex initiatives involving application code, databases or data layers, deployment environments, and infrastructure.
- Strong architectural and technical decision-making skills, with the ability to connect technical choices to business and operational objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex software initiatives with measurable operational impact.
- Strong code review, engineering standards, and software development best-practice experience.
- High level of ownership, autonomy, and accountability from concept through production.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with product leaders, technical teams, and subject-matter experts.
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement, technical excellence, and raising engineering standards across a team.
- Ability to contribute positively to a collaborative and values-driven engineering culture.
