AVER is seeking a Senior .NET Application Developer to support software development, maintenance, operations, and modernization within a highly controlled and security-sensitive government environment. The position focuses on supporting applications throughout the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, production support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and enhancement of existing and new .NET-based applications. The Senior .NET Application Developer will work primarily within the Microsoft technology stack, developing and supporting websites, web-enabled data-entry systems, standalone and client-server applications, web services, Windows Services, and other software products. B The successful candidate should have strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, SQL Server and Oracle, RESTful web services, authentication and identity management, and Agile software development. Responsibilities Include:
- Demonstrate success delivering solutions across the full systems development lifecycle, leveraging deep technical expertise to understand scope and ensure successful project delivery
- Support websites, web-enabled data-entry systems, standalone and client-server applications, and collaborative computing products
- Design, develop, enhance, debug, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot .NET-based software applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve production problems related to software applications, databases, services, and system integrations
- Research, test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements
- Design and develop new software products and major enhancements to existing applications and evaluate the effectiveness of solutions
- Identify and address problems involving systems integration, application compatibility, databases, and multiple technology platforms
- Consult with project teams, clients, and end users to identify and understand application requirements
- Perform feasibility and technical analysis for potential future projects and provide recommendations to management
- Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration technologies, development tools, and testing tools
- Develop and maintain RESTful web services and back-end application services
- Develop and support Windows Services and ASP.NET Core applications
- Implement and support authentication and authorization technologies including SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JSON Web Tokens (JWT), role-based access control (RBAC), and claims-based authentication
- Work with relational databases including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle
- Use Entity Framework Core and other ORM technologies to support application data access and database integration
- Participate in Agile Scrum development activities, including planning, development, testing, code reviews, deployment, and production support
- Support CI/CD and software deployment processes using GitHub Actions or comparable DevOps tools
- Apply secure coding practices and application security principles throughout the software development lifecycle
- Resolve software problems and respond to suggestions for application improvements and enhancements
- Participate in the development and maintenance of software user manuals, technical documentation, and technical reports
- Conduct code reviews and review the work of other developers to ensure quality, consistency, security, and adherence to established development standards
- Act as a senior developer overseeing projects and providing technical guidance, oversight, and mentorship to less experienced developers
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients, project teams, and other technical staff
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
Experience Requirements:
- 8+ years of technical analysis and software application development experience
- Experience with Microsoft C#
- Experience with .NET Core and Microsoft .NET 6 or greater
- Experience with Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or greater
- Experience with ASP.NET Core
- Experience developing and supporting Windows Services
- Experience with MVC Design Patterns and MVVM Design Patterns
- Experience with ORM and database technologies, including Entity Framework Core (EF Core) 6 or greater
- Experience with relational databases, including SQL Server 2016 or above and Oracle 12c or above
- Experience with front-end development technologies including jQuery, AJAX, Telerik Kendo UI, or similar UI frameworks
- Experience developing and integrating RESTful Web Services and APIs
- Experience using GitHub Actions or another DevOps/CI/CD tool
- Experience implementing authentication protocols including SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect
- Experience working with JSON Web Tokens (JWT) for secure API communication
- Experience with role-based access control (RBAC) and claims-based authentication
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2019 or above
- Experience working within an Agile Scrum methodology
- Experience with security and identity management
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security principles
- Strong technical analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify and resolve software, database, API, and system integration issues
- Ability to review another developer’s work and provide clear technical guidance
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established client development, security, and documentation procedures

- Experience supporting applications in government, defense, law enforcement, or other highly controlled technical environments
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting applications in production environments
- Experience modernizing or enhancing existing .NET and .NET Framework applications
- Experience integrating applications with multiple databases, systems, APIs, or external services
- Experience with automated build, testing, and deployment processes
- Experience providing technical leadership, code reviews, and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers
- Experience developing technical documentation, software user manuals, and technical reports
- Experience working directly with clients and end users to translate business requirements into technical solutions
