Senior MSL

Purpose:

The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will support the growth of assigned brands in Specialty Medicine and assist in the pre-launch and launch preparations for new cardiovascular (CV) brands in Singapore. The Senior MSL will act as a scientific expert, facilitating the dissemination and education of scientific data and materials. This role involves establishing strategic relationships with key physicians, scientists, stakeholders, and major medical associations to ensure access to relevant scientific information.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Managing External Relationships:

    • Foster strong partnerships with external Thought Leaders (TLs), acting as a trusted advisor to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
    • Identify and engage the right TLs, ensuring transparency and integration of all TL engagement activities.
    • Generate insights on unmet medical needs, documenting and communicating them to cross-functional teams.
    • Implement TL engagement strategies by understanding TLs and disseminating customer/patient-centric insights through various channels.

Strategic Contribution:

    • Drive the medical strategy for the assigned portfolio, translating the medical plan into actionable TL engagement strategies.
    • Data Collection, Analysis, and Interpretation:
    • Review and interpret analytics related to TL engagement, taking appropriate actions based on findings.
    • Stay updated on the latest scientific research in the assigned therapeutic area and competitors.
    • Develop a strategic perspective on Bayer’s commercial strategies and healthcare landscape to anticipate stakeholder needs.

Internal Support:

    • Co-lead the development and implementation of Bayer-organized Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs for the assigned portfolio.
    • Develop or localize globally approved materials for the portfolio, ensuring they go through the local review and approval process.
    • Facilitate evidence generation aligned with medical and brand strategy, including investigator-initiated research.
    • Assist the market access team in presenting new information to hospital formularies and reimbursement decision-makers.
    • Serve as an internal scientific expert, providing support to training activities and addressing scientific queries from cross-functional teams.
    • Act as the contact person for regional and global teams regarding the assigned portfolio.
    • Support the clinical trial team with data collection and initiation visits related to interventional clinical trials.

Medical Queries:

    • Document and process medical information queries in alignment with handling procedures.

Experiences / Background:

    • Advanced life science degree (Bachelor's or higher) in medicine, natural sciences, pharmacology, pharmacy, or related fields.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the medical/pharmaceutical field, focusing on drug information, clinical research, or related activities.
    • Basic knowledge of therapeutic area products.
    • Preferable business acumen gained through academic study or work experience in a pharmaceutical organization.
    • Proven ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop coherent strategies.
    • Experience leading workstreams/projects and organizing scientific engagement platforms.
