Under the direction of the MRI Operations Director and Medical Director, the Senior MRI Technologist performs complex MRI examinations using advanced imaging equipment and techniques. This role requires strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and MRI safety, with a focus on accurate image acquisition and exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities include screening patients for MRI safety, administering contrast media, operating advanced MRI and 3D post-processing equipment, ensuring accurate image processing and archival, and maintaining compliance with departmental, hospital, and regulatory standards. The Senior MRI Technologist serves as a key liaison between patients, radiologists, and the care team, providing compassionate education, communication, and support throughout the imaging experience.
The Senior MRI Technologist may float between UCLA Health imaging locations, participate in rotating schedules, including weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage, and may assume lead responsibilities when needed. This position plays an important role in advancing technical excellence, patient safety, and high-quality imaging across UCLA Health.
