Senior Motor Control Engineer – Home Appliances & HVAC (8–12 Years)

Senior Motor Control Engineer with 8–12 years of experience in designing and developing advanced motor control solutions for Air Conditioners, Washing Machines, Dishwashers, Refrigerators, Heat Pumps, Fans, HVAC systems, and inverter-driven appliances Strong expertise in PMSM, BLDC, Induction Motor, and SRM control, with hands-on experience in Field-Oriented Control (FOC), Sensorless FOC, PI/PID tuning, current/speed/torque control loop design, SVPWM, MTPA, and Field Weakening Extensive experience developing embedded motor control software on ARM Cortex-M based NXP microcontrollers (MCX, Kinetis, LPC, and i.MX RT) using Embedded C/C++, RTOS, MATLAB/Simulink, and Model-Based Design Proven track record of delivering energy-efficient, cost-optimized, and production-ready motor drive solutions from concept through mass production.

Education

  • Master’s Degree (M.Tech./M.S.) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control Systems, Power Electronics, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, or related discipline. Preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech./B.S.) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or related engineering discipline

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize advanced motor control algorithms for inverter-based appliance, HVAC, and renewable energy applications.
  • Design, implement, and tune current, speed, and torque control loops using PI/PID controllers to achieve optimum dynamic performance, efficiency, and stability.
  • Develop and optimize FOC, Sensorless FOC, MTPA, Field Weakening, and SVPWM algorithms for PMSM and BLDC motor drives.
  • Develop motor control hardware and firmware solutions based on NXP microcontroller platforms, supporting complete product development from concept to production.
  • Implement motor control software on ARM-based NXP microcontrollers using Embedded C/C++ and RTOS platforms.
  • Develop simulation models and validate control strategies using MATLAB/Simulink
  • Apply strong knowledge of power electronics, including inverters, PFC, gate drivers, current/voltage sensing, protection circuits, and motor drive topologies.
  • Utilize knowledge of magnetics and motor fundamentals to support motor characterization, efficiency improvement, acoustic noise reduction, and torque optimization.
  • Perform system integration, motor tuning, performance optimization, and product validation.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, logic analyzers, and other laboratory equipment.
  • Lead technical reviews, mentor junior engineers, and support end-to-end product development activities.
