Position Summary:

Serve as the lead mortgage loan servicing subject matter expert and a key operational leader within the Loan Servicing Department. Provide day-to-day guidance, training, workflow coordination, and technical support to commercial and agricultural servicing staff while performing advanced servicing functions. Act as the primary resource for complex servicing matters, assist with quality control activities, and serve as a backup to the Loan Servicing Manager. While employees continue to report directly to the Loan Servicing Manager, the Senior Mortgage Loan Servicer provides operational leadership and helps ensure departmental goals are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Mortgage Servicing Leadership

  • Serve as the department’s primary mortgage servicing subject matter expert
  • Assist with workflow management and prioritization of staff
  • Coordinate team coverage during employee absences
  • Assis with onboarding and cross-training efforts
  • Help maintain departmental procedures and job aids
  • Act as the backup to the Loan Servicing Manager
  • Ensure critical month-end and investor deadlines are completed
  • Escalate compliance, audit, customer, and personnel matters to the Loan Servicing Manager and/or senior management when appropriate
  • Identify areas for process improvement

Mortgage Servicing

  • Administer complex mortgage servicing transactions
  • Oversee escrow administration and escrow analysis actives
  • Review mortgage modifications
  • Support delinquency and loss mitigation servicing activities
  • Manage complex investor servicing requirements
  • Resolve escalated customer servicing issues
  • Ensure compliance with investor and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with Freddie Mac servicing requirements
  • Assist with FHLB participation servicing requirements
  • Support investor reporting and reconciliation processes
  • Review investor exception items and servicing corrections
  • Assist with audit and examination requests
  • All other job duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with loans, lending, and/or loan servicing
  • Strong understanding of escrow administration, investor servicing, Freddie Mac servicing, and FHLB servicing
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
  • Ability to assist in training, coaching, and developing staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Two or more years of experience working with loans, lending, and/or loan servicing

Skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite experience
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to independently resolve complex servicing issues and support departmental objectives

Work Environment

  • Primarily office or branch-based environment with standard business hours. Occasional travel to other branch locations or community events may be required
  • Daily extended use of banking software, secure digital platforms, and standard office equipment
  • Repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
