You’ll be trusted to play your part in delivering the advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions of tomorrow - shaping a safer future, for all of us.Job Description:As a Senior Mission Systems Engineer, you will be providing SME Electronic Warfare (EW) knowledge into cross-functional trade studies associated which relate to EW Systems as well as liaising with the tri-lateral MoDs to advise during the development of EW requirements.Core duties:Providing SME EW knowledge into cross-functional trade studies associated which relate to EW SystemsLiaising with the tri-lateral MoDs to advise during the development of EW requirementsExecuting plans to deliver and undertake oversight / review of performance assessments of EW systems to support programme gate reviewsDesigning EW Systems and developing them with associated areas, including Mission Data, Through Life Support, Safety-Airworthiness, Security, EM Engineering & TestPlanning and implementation for EW System Integration, simulation, synthetics and testSupporting other less experienced Systems Engineers, e.g. an apprenticeManaging the creation of Engineering documents that form part of the Systems Engineering processHolding relationships with, and manage EW activities undertaken by our suppliers and partners in the UK and internationallyEssential Skills:A degree/HND or equivalent experience in a STEM related diciplineSystems engineering and engineering lifecycle experienceKnowledge of systems engineering methods and tools (e.g. UML/SysML, MoDAF, MOOD, Matlab)Experience of developing Aircraft mission systems and associated domain knowledgeThe Mission Systems Delivery Team (MSDT):This role sits within a specialised team that delivers advanced mission systems engineering capabilities to our customers while developing and evolving the technologies that will defend the UK for generations.You will be part of the Mission Systems Delivery Team (MSDT) delivering the Assessment Phase of the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) programme.
