Job Title: Senior Mission System Architect - Platform InterfaceLocation: Portsmouth (Broad Oak) or Frimley, Filton, Dorchester, hybrid - 3 days on site - this role will require routine travel to other southern BAE sites within UK and occasionally internationally.Salary: Up to £89, 520 dependent on experienceWho we are:Join BAE Systems and you’ll be part of something bigger. You will define platform-agnostic architectures that enable seamless interaction between propulsion, power, control, combat and auxiliary systems and offboard monitoring. Working within complex system-of-systems environments, you will ensure solutions are safe, resilient, interoperable and aligned with Hybrid Navy strategic objectives. Collaborating with customers, suppliers and engineering teams across BAE Systems and the broader defence enterprise, you will influence strategic direction and deliver future-ready platform integration solutions that support operational performance and long-term capability growth.Core duties:Lead platform interface architecture and integration strategy.Define standards, interfaces and system integration principles.Resolve complex cross-domain integration and interoperability challenges.Embed cyber resilience, safety and assurance into architectural solutions.Support digital ship technologies, automation and control systems.Influence stakeholders on platform integration strategy and delivery.Essential skills:A degree in Engineering (or a related subject)Full membership of an appropriate engineering institution and be a Chartered Engineer (or actively working towards).Extensive experience in maritime systems integration and system-of-systems architecture.Strong knowledge of platform automation, control systems and digital engineering..Combat System Engineering Team:Within the dynamic and rapidly expanding Naval Ships Combat Systems business, you will form part of a highly skilled team of system architects charged with shaping the future of maritime mission systems.
