BHP’s copper province in South Australia (Copper SA) comprises the Olympic Dam, Prominent Hill and Carrapateena underground mines, with smelter and refinery complex at Olympic Dam. The company is also progressing the Oak Dam exploration prospect.

The opportunity to join the planning team at CuSA provides a unique pathway to garner experience in many forms of underground mining across CuSAs assets in Olympic Dam, Prominent Hill and Carrapateena whilst all on the precipice of substantive growth programs.
Reporting to the Superintendent Planning and Infrastructure, this role is responsible for executing strategic and technical mine planning work in the 2-8 year planning horizon for our Copper SA Underground Mines. The role provides guidance to a range of technical and operational stakeholders with a focus on medium-term mine planning and infrastructure required to support the asset strategy. Mine infrastructure includes ventilation, air, power, water, pastefill and their impacts on safety, production, cost and achievement of the mine plan and future growth at Copper SA.
Your extensive industry experience will enable you to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide stakeholder group with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation.
This position is based at Adelaide on a 5:2 roster with occasional site travel to each of the operating mine sites, flexible work arrangements available.
