Job Description

Salary: £25,583 per annum, pro rata

Hours of work: 13 hours 45 minutes per week, 11am – 1.45pm Monday to Friday, term time only (38 weeks)

All about the role:

St John’s Catholic Primary School, Trowbridge, is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and friendly Senior Midday Supervisory Assistant to join our caring and dedicated team. Guided by our mission, “We grow and learn in the footsteps of Jesus,” we are looking for someone who will help create a safe, happy and nurturing lunchtime environment where every child feels valued, respected and supported.

The successful candidate will lead and support our Midday Supervisory team in the hall, including drawing up rotas and organising cover for absence, dealing with incidents involving first aid, behaviour and pupil wellbeing. They will supervise children in the dining hall whilst eating, and driving the clean down after the lunch service, including loading/unloading the dishwasher. The role also includes reporting concerns, communicating important information to class teachers and senior leaders, and supporting the implementation of the school’s safeguarding and behaviour policies. The postholder will liaise with senior leaders regarding training needs and the ordering of equipment, helping to ensure lunchtime provision runs smoothly and effectively.
