Job Description

Help Customers Get More from Microsoft 365, AI, and Modern Work Technologies

At Marco, we help organizations transform how work gets done through Microsoft 365, collaboration, security, automation, information management, and AI.

We're looking for a Senior Modern Work Engineer who combines deep technical expertise with a passion for helping customers solve business challenges. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading strategic conversations, building trusted customer relationships, and rolling up their sleeves to implement meaningful technology solutions.

As a Senior Modern Work Engineer, you'll serve as a trusted advisor and hands-on technical leader for customers. You'll help shape technology roadmaps, identify opportunities for improvement, design and implement solutions, and guide organizations through their Microsoft 365 and AI journey.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the primary Modern Work advisor for customers.
  • Lead recurring customer engagements focused on technology planning, business alignment, and long-term success.
  • Partner closely with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) to align customer goals, technology roadmaps, service adoption, risk mitigation, and overall customer success.
  • Collaborate with CSMs to identify opportunities for increased customer value, modernization initiatives, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Develop and maintain technology roadmaps that align Microsoft investments with customer goals and priorities.
  • Assess customer environments, identify risks and opportunities, and provide clear recommendations that improve productivity, collaboration, security, and adoption.
  • Design, implement, optimize, and support solutions across Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Intune, Entra ID, security and compliance technologies, and Microsoft Copilot.
  • Translate technical findings into actionable business recommendations for both technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Own initiatives from discovery and planning through implementation, adoption, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Work directly with customers to troubleshoot complex challenges and deliver practical solutions that create lasting value.
  • Create customer-ready assessments, roadmaps, technical documentation, and strategic recommendations.
  • Mentor fellow engineers and contribute to best practices, standards, and the continued evolution of Marco's Modern Work practice.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Customers view you as a trusted technology advisor and go-to resource.
  • Strong partnerships exist between the customer, Customer Success Manager, and engineering team, resulting in higher engagement, roadmap execution, and long-term customer success.
  • Technology roadmaps are actively guiding customer investments and modernization efforts.
  • Customer environments demonstrate measurable improvements in productivity, collaboration, security posture, adoption, and operational efficiency.
  • Opportunities are identified proactively and successfully transformed into completed initiatives.
  • Customers realize value from Microsoft 365, Copilot, and AI investments through your leadership and execution.
  • You are equally comfortable facilitating executive discussions and implementing technical solutions.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing Microsoft 365 technologies.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Intune, and Entra ID.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 security, compliance, governance, and identity management best practices.
  • Experience leading customer-facing technology discussions, roadmap reviews, governance meetings, or strategic planning engagements.
  • Experience translating business goals into practical technical solutions.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and supporting Microsoft 365 modernization initiatives.
  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot, AI readiness, governance, adoption, or organizational change initiatives.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences.
  • Experience working collaboratively with customer success, consulting, or account management teams to drive customer outcomes.
  • Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD 102) and Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC 300) required.
  • Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert (MS 102) required or currently in progress.
