Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Engineering Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in the successful planning, design, and delivery of major infrastructure and development projects. You will provide technical leadership, resource management, quality oversight, and engineering governance while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client requirements, industry standards, and Parsons' quality objectives.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and manage engineering teams across one engineering discipline or multiple disciplines on major infrastructure programs.
- Provide technical leadership, direction, and oversight throughout the engineering design and project delivery lifecycle.
- Plan, review, and approve discipline staffing plans, resource forecasts, and staffing assignments to support project delivery.
- Coordinate engineering resources across multiple projects to ensure optimum utilization and project performance.
- Monitor engineering quality, productivity, schedule performance, and technical compliance across assigned projects.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Project Directors to resolve engineering, resource, quality, and schedule issues.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables, technical reports, design documentation, calculations, specifications, and engineering submissions.
- Establish, implement, and continuously improve engineering standards, procedures, best practices, and technical guidelines.
- Ensure engineering activities comply with company procedures, project requirements, applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support project planning, engineering execution strategies, risk management, and technical decision-making.
- Participate in business development, proposals, bid evaluations, and pre-contract activities by providing engineering expertise.
- Recruit, interview, mentor, develop, and evaluate engineering staff while supporting career development and succession planning.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and manage employee performance in accordance with company policies.
- Promote collaboration across engineering disciplines, project teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and actively promote Parsons' Quality Improvement Program.
- Monitor engineering department budgets and ensure performance within approved overhead and project budgets.
- Participate in client meetings, technical workshops, design reviews, value engineering sessions, and executive presentations.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 15+ years of engineering experience, including significant supervisory and engineering management experience.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on large infrastructure, transportation, utilities, buildings, or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design principles, project delivery methodologies, and industry standards.
- Experience managing engineering resources, staffing plans, budgets, and project workloads.
- Strong understanding of engineering quality management, risk management, and technical governance.
- Experience reviewing and approving engineering deliverables and technical documentation.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency with engineering software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent professional registration may be required.
