Senior Medical Advisor, Private Obesity

Shape obesity care pathways and drive medical strategy that transforms patient outcomes in the UK private sector.

Your new role

As Senior Medical Advisor for Private Obesity, you’ll be at the forefront of medical strategy development, working with healthcare professionals and private providers to improve access and outcomes for people living with obesity. Your medical expertise will directly shape how care is delivered across the UK private sector—supporting care at scale for more than 3 million patients.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Driving regional and national scientific advisory services for healthcare professionals, ensuring alignment with business needs and PMCPA requirements
  • Developing and executing KOL management strategies, advisory boards, and medical education through omnichannel approaches
  • Partnering with private providers to identify solutions along clinical care pathways that support improved patient outcomes
  • Leading PMCPA-related compliance activities
  • Contributing to integrated evidence plans and contributing to real world evidence generation to build a robust evidence base
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, providing medical and scientific expertise to multichannel engagement, marketing, sales and market access and support internal training of relevant stakeholders
  • Leading local symposia and educational events on obesity and Novo Nordisk therapies

Within UK Medical Affairs, you'll join a team dedicated to ensuring healthcare professionals have the scientific support and evidence they need to deliver optimal patient care. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape obesity treatment pathways in the private sector, working at the intersection of medical science, commercial strategy, and patient access.

Your skills & qualifications

We're looking for a medically qualified professional with strategic thinking and a passion for improving patient outcomes. You'll bring:

  • GMC registered doctor, registered pharmacist, or PhD with knowledge and experience in metabolic disease areas. Essential)
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience in medical affairs, ideally working in complex, sophisticated markets
  • Strong understanding of the UK healthcare environment including disease-related patient pathways and treatment access
  • Sound knowledge of ABPI Code of Practice and regulations relating to pharmaceutical advertising
  • Clinical and scientific expertise with excellent communication and networking capabilities
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills with proven scientific credibility
  • Knowledge of GCP, clinical trial methodology, publication processes, and UK healthcare systems
  • Ability to work effectively in an international matrix organization and adapt quickly to changing environments
  • Fluency in written and spoken English with proficiency in Microsoft packages
  • Strong business understanding (industry experience or MBA) is desirable.
