This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading team that provides environmental solutions to the public and private sectors throughout the State of Maryland.

Maryland Environmental Service (MES) has multiple openings for a Senior Mechanic to a Lead Mechanic to join the Technical and Environmental Services Group at the BWI Marshall Airport field office. Responsibilities include performing installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment used for a variety of projects at BWI and Martin State Airports as well as other MES operated facilities throughout the state.

This field office is a designated 24/7 emergency essential facility. Therefore, the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather conditions will be required.

Estimated Pay Range:

Senior Mechanic: $55,256.40 - $75,978.12

Lead Mechanic: $60,782.49 - $83,575.93

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum qualifications for both positions include a high school diploma or possession of a GED equivalency certificate.

The Senior Mechanic position requires five (5) years of experience. Formal training from an accredited vocational school with a major in a related field of study may be substituted for experience for up to three (3) years of the required work experience.

The Lead Mechanic position requires seven (7) years of experience. Formal training from an accredited vocational school with a major in a related field of study may be substituted for experience for up to three (3) years of the required work experience.

Preferred Qualification: Possession of a valid CDL Class B license.

Applicants must be able to obtain a Homeland Security Clearance and must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical. Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points. The position will require the ability to perform confined space entry and lift 50 pounds.

Any offer of employment will be contingent upon successfully completing required pre-employment screens, to include full background check, drug & alcohol screening, and position appropriate physical.
