IMEG is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Oklahoma City, OK, to lead large and highly complex mechanical projects as a project manager or lead engineer. You will provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients, with work spanning project management, analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry.

You will work within project budgets, lead and mentor others, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. The team supports general MEP, building systems, and institutional markets while advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the analysis and design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, including detailed designs, specifications, and calculations.
  • Perform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reports.
  • Work with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, communicate technical information, and build client relationships.
  • Conduct in-process design reviews and implement quality-control processes for system designs, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence.
  • Provide technical training and mentoring and assist with resolving field issues with minimal support from senior staff.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and mechanical-engineering best practices, contributing to research, development, and innovation efforts.
  • Prioritize safety and identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
  • Participate in project interviews and presentations.

What You'll Bring

Required Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required

Experience

  • 10 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting industry

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Mastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics relating to mechanical design in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems
  • Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
